Description

Larger pool equipment setups often need more room, particularly when you have multiple pumps, a large filter, chlorinator, spa equipment or additional controllers all sharing the same filtration area.

The Acoustic Box™ Pool Equipment Enclosure (Backless) – 1650mm Wide gives you the additional space needed to enclose a more substantial pool equipment setup while helping reduce unwanted operating noise.

Its Backless design is particularly useful when your equipment is installed close to a wall or fence. Instead of requiring the rear clearance of a standard freestanding enclosure, the Backless configuration mounts against the wall, making better use of the available space.

Australian made and designed specifically for pool equipment, the 1650mm Acoustic Box™ combines acoustic insulation, ventilation and durable construction to create a quieter, cleaner and more organised filtration area.

The smaller models (< 1100mm in width) will easily fit a filter (cartridge or sand), a pump, a chlorinator, and the power points.

The larger models (> 1100mm in width) will fit a filter (sand or cartridge), multiple pumps, spa blowers, chlorinators and more.

 Reduce Pool Equipment Noise

Pool equipment can run for many hours every day, and the noise can become particularly noticeable when the filtration area is positioned near bedrooms, outdoor entertaining spaces or neighbouring properties.

The Acoustic Box™ uses 29/400 grade acoustic foam internally to help contain and absorb equipment noise.

Its acoustic performance has been independently assessed, with the enclosure designed to reduce pool equipment noise by up to 80%.

That can make a significant difference to the overall comfort of your backyard without requiring you to relocate your existing filtration equipment.

Things to Know Before You Buy

The 1650mm measurement refers to the width of the enclosure, so it's important to measure your entire equipment setup rather than measuring only your pump and filter.

Include plumbing, valves, chlorinators, controllers, spa equipment and anything else that extends beyond the main equipment when taking your measurements.

Backless models are 50mm deeper than the equivalent freestanding Acoustic Box™ and are designed for equipment installations where there is limited space between the equipment and the wall or fence behind it.

If you have downpipes, conduits or other significant obstructions running vertically behind your equipment, you may need to consider a Deep Backless Acoustic Box™ instead.

If you're unsure which size or configuration you need, contact the MOPS team before ordering and we can help you determine the most suitable option.

FAQ's

What is the difference between the standard and Backless Acoustic Box™?

A standard freestanding Acoustic Box™ includes a complete rear panel. The Backless version removes this panel and instead uses wall strips and a horizontal bridge, allowing the enclosure to be installed closer to a wall or fence.

Why would I choose the 1650mm instead of the 1350mm model?

The 1650mm enclosure provides an additional 300mm of width, making it better suited to larger equipment configurations, multiple pumps, spa equipment or installations where you simply want additional space around your equipment for easier access.

What equipment can fit inside a 1650mm Acoustic Box™?

Depending on the individual equipment dimensions, the larger Acoustic Box™ models can accommodate a filter, multiple pumps, chlorinators, spa blowers and other associated pool equipment. Always measure your complete installation before ordering.

How much can it reduce pool equipment noise?

The Acoustic Box™ is designed to reduce pool equipment noise by up to 80%, with its acoustic performance independently assessed by an Acoustic Engineer.

Will my pool equipment have enough ventilation?

The enclosure incorporates 25mm ventilation gaps to maintain airflow around the equipment. These ventilation areas should always remain unobstructed.

Can I access my equipment for servicing?

Yes. The front door is fully removable and the top lid opens, giving you clear access to the equipment for regular maintenance and servicing.

Does the Acoustic Box™ come assembled?

No. It is supplied flat packed. The 1650mm model falls within the manufacturer's single-unit range and is designed for relatively quick assembly without nuts, bolts or specialised tools.

Is the Backless model suitable if I have pipes running along the wall?

The Backless design provides additional flexibility for pipes, conduits and electrical fittings positioned on the rear wall. If you have larger vertical obstructions such as downpipes, however, the Deep Backless model may be more suitable.

Is the Acoustic Box™ Australian made?

Yes. Acoustic Box™ enclosures are 100% Australian made using Australian BlueScope™ galvanised steel with a Dulux® Colorbond® powder-coated finish.

How do I know if 1650mm is the right size?

Measure the maximum width, depth and height of your complete filtration system, including plumbing and accessories. We recommend allowing some additional clearance rather than selecting an enclosure that only just fits your equipment.
